At Awsaj, we are committed to publishing insightful, thought-provoking, and original content that aligns with our mission to explore society, culture, and sustainable development. We welcome pitches and submissions from diverse voices that inspire critical thinking, foster dialogue, and provide meaningful contributions to our readers.

Our editorial policy is designed to ensure a fair, transparent, and high-quality process for all contributors. Please read this policy carefully before submitting your pitch.


Terms of Submission

  1. Original Content:

    • All submissions must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere. Republishing content from Awsaj is only permitted with explicit written consent.
    • Plagiarism or uncredited use of material is strictly prohibited. Writers are responsible for ensuring that their submissions do not infringe on any third-party intellectual property rights.
  2. Alignment with Awsaj's Mission:

    • Submissions should reflect Awsaj’s core focus on society, culture, and sustainable development. We value work that is thoughtful, well-researched, and accessible to a global audience.
    • Topics of interest include (but are not limited to): cultural practices, sustainability challenges, societal trends, migration and identity, arts, and innovative solutions to global issues.
  3. Length and Format:

    • Essays: 1,000–1,500 words
    • Articles: 800–1,200 words
    • Guides: 1,500–2,000 words
    • Videos: Proposals should include a detailed script or storyboard and be no longer than 10 minutes.
    • Submissions should be in Word or PDF format, using a professional, easy-to-read font (e.g., Times New Roman or Arial, 12-point size).
  4. Language and Tone:

    • Submissions should be written in clear, concise English, free from jargon, with a tone appropriate to the target audience (general public, educators, or policymakers).
    • Pieces should be engaging, factually accurate, and supported by credible sources.
  5. Editorial Review:

    • Awsaj reserves the right to edit submissions for clarity, style, grammar, and length. Major revisions will be communicated to the author for approval before publication.
    • Not all pitches will be accepted, and we may decline a pitch if it does not align with our themes or meet our editorial standards.
  6. Submission Process:

    • Writers are required to submit a pitch before sending the full article. Pitches must include:
      • A proposed title
      • A 100–200 word summary of the piece
      • The target audience
      • Any relevant writing samples (optional but encouraged).
    • Pitches can be submitted through our [Pitch Submission Form](insert link) or via email to editorial@awsaj.org.
  7. Copyright and Attribution:

    • Awsaj retains copyright for all published content. Authors will receive full attribution, including a byline and a brief bio (2–3 sentences).
    • Authors may republish their work with prior permission and proper credit to Awsaj.
  8. Payment:

    • If payment is applicable, terms will be discussed and agreed upon before publication. Awsaj is a non-profit organization, so compensation may vary depending on the scope of the project.
  9. Deadlines:

    • Deadlines will be agreed upon during the pitch process. Writers must communicate promptly if extensions are needed. Failure to meet deadlines without prior approval may result in rejection.
  10. Ethics and Credibility:

  • All facts, statistics, and quotes must be properly sourced and cited. Awsaj reserves the right to request verification of sources.
  • Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest related to the content they submit.

Rejection and Appeals

Awsaj reserves the right to reject submissions at any stage if they fail to meet editorial guidelines or align with the organization’s mission. Authors will be notified of rejections via email, and appeals or resubmissions will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
